The official language of the European Union is French. And CE is the abbreviation of the term 'Conformité Européenne', or translated into Russian - 'European conformity'.
If this symbol is affixed to the product, it informs the customer that the quality of the product is confirmed by the tests carried out and is fully compliant with the safety requirements established in the European Union. If your company intends to enter the market of any of the EU member countries with its products, you will need to obtain a CE certificate. But even if you are not yet ready to storm foreign markets and want to limit yourself to the borders of the Russian Federation, it is also worthwhile to obtain certification and obtain such a mark.
Today, this abbreviation is familiar to many consumers and inspires their confidence. This gives the product a significant competitive advantage. In addition, such a document will be useful for businessmen participating in tenders. The advantages of having a CE certificate
Let's define the advantages of receiving additional marking in the form of a couple of letters on the product:

The EU certification is carried out in accordance with the 'Decision n. 768/2008 / CE 'of the European Parliament, of 07/09/2008. The requirements on which the certification is based are the harmonized standards of the EU countries as well as the safety directives. All the provisions contained in these documents are reduced to the identification of probable risks deriving from the use of the goods presented. The manufacturer can independently choose methods for eliminating risks. The directives do not aim at the methods of avoiding the risks, but at the result.
One way to meet the requirements is to comply with harmonized standards, but technical confirmation will be required in this case. In other words, simply choose the appropriate standard for the product and provide confirmation that it meets the requirements specified therein. In this case, the manufacturer is obliged to demonstrate that the existing risks will be eliminated by complying with the regulation.
How long is the certificate issued for?
Most often, EU directives limit the shelf life of the label to 3 years. However, there are also exceptions. The duration for which a product is awarded as 'European Conformity' depends on various factors and can be 10 years, and in some cases it has no (indefinite) duration.
The inspection check is carried out only if changes are made to the product or its manufacturing process.
Are there any fake labels?
As we have already noted, the sign must be applied in full compliance with the established norm. All other marks are considered false. At the same time, an interesting point should be taken into account: the officially recognized China Export sign consists of the same letters and looks almost the same. Only a comparison allows us to notice: on the Chinese sign the letters are a little closer.
How to get European certification in Russia

In the Center the procedure will be faster, with less effort, but for this you will have to pay a commission to the Center. Specialists will help to collect a package of documents, fill out an application without errors, collect the necessary materials for tests and overcome other nuances, speeding up and simplifying registration.
Individuals or companies who are familiar with the procedure can self-certify. Otherwise, collecting documents, choosing a laboratory, providing data and completing an application will result in delays, as well as additional financial burdens that outweigh the savings on professionals' services.
